2026 California Family Justice Network First Annual Conference & Advocacy Day!
The 2026 California Family Justice Network First Annual Conference & Advocacy Day is scheduled for June 9-10, 2026 in Sacramento. This inaugural two-day gathering brings together the California Family Justice Center community to connect, collaborate, and advance the collective impact of Family Justice Centers statewide.
This first annual conference and Advocacy Day will convene Family Justice Center directors, board members, advocates, and partner agencies to share best practices, deepen collaboration, and elevate a unified voice to advance policies that support survivors and strengthen Family Justice Centers statewide.

Trauma-Informed Language Training

Kelly Cavolo from the CDSS Child Trafficking Program Support Unit and Ummra Hang from the CSEC Action Team Advisory Board will be co-facilitating this training to shift the way we discuss children and challenge common stereotypes. The language we use shapes how we interact with children and youth, influencing how they perceive themselves both in the short and long term. This training will support service providers to be aware of our biases and how biases inform our use of language.

Understanding the Scope of Technology-Facilitated Abuse and Data to Inform Prevention

The Administration for Children and Families' (ACF) Office on Trafficking in Persons (OTIP) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Violence Prevention (DVP) are partnering to share what the latest data shows about the scope of technology-facilitated abuse (TFA).
This webinar will feature presentations from CDC DVP and ACF OTIP staff showing data from multiple large-scale national and international sources on the scope of TFA across age groups and situations. Panelists, including current federally funded award recipients, will also discuss how they use data to inform their practice and support efforts to prevent and respond to TFA.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the scope of technology-facilitated abuse (TFA), using national and international data.
Identify current and emerging data sources that can improve the scope and consequences of TFA.
Explain how agencies and organizations use TFA data to inform prevention and response efforts.
Apply evidence to design or strengthen prevention and response programming.

Composed entirely of individuals with lived expertise, the conversation will focus on the community-based supports that can create community pathways to strengthen families and keep children safe.
